Venture13 maker lab
A makerspace of technology based DIY culture, encouraging applications of technologies, and the exploration of collaborating between traditionally separate mediums and ways of working including wood-working, calligraphy, film making, and computer programming.
Unfortunately the MakerLab will be closed for the time being due to precautions against the spread of Covid 19
A community makerspace where people of all ages and abilities come together to practice digital fabrication, coding, hands on making and electronics.

Cost: $300 includes 6 classes in the maker lab, all rocketry materials, engines, fuses, safety equipment and planning, at least 3 launches

FRIDAY Night – STARFINDER
Have you ever wanted to be an Envoy, Mechanic, Soldier or Technomancer? Well now is your chance! We are looking for 5 to 6 brave individuals to engage in a Pact World campaign to track down and stop Steel Talon who is terrorizing Absalom Station. Northumberland Maker Director Michael Kerr leads a game of Starfinder Friday nights starting March 27, 2020. We will start with 6 sessions and see where things lead. The cost is $5 per night per player. Email us if you have questions or are interested in this Starfinder Campaign.
Wednesday Night – Women’s Tech 6-10 pm
With NM Directors: Ruth Worona, Cat Kerr and Elizabeth Sleight;
and Melissa Searle. We want to try something new! Wednesday nights are for women (and girls tech club NMKids) members only. Starting October 9 to the end of November. This is a drop-in additional night for women members.
TUTORING – Math & Science
Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) Tutoring is a unique, individualized program that provides hands-on experiential learning opportunities to help kids make connections to real world Math and Science. Our tutors are enthusiastic Ontario Educators and Student volunteers that will help build confidence in your child’s Math and Science knowledge, skill and ability. Our program will use a blend of direct instruction and inquiry based conventional tutoring, assessments, formative feedback, physical and virtual manipulatives, assistive technology, coding, robotics, 3D printing, and Junior Undiscovered Math Prodigies (JUMP) resources to provide you child with a rich and engaging experience.
Northumberland Makers is a Not-for-Profit and STEAM Tutoring is a pay as you can program with a suggested rate of $15 per hour.
We're looking for skilled volunteers of all ages to help manage the MakerLab, outside events, classes and more. What kind of Maker are you? Chances are there is someone in our community that can benefit from your skills. Please introduce yourself!
